El Credo: Apostles Creed in Spanish

Apostles’ Creed sums up the belief and teachings of the Apostles. It is also known as Apostolic Creed or the Symbol of the Apostles.

What is the Apostles Creed?

The Creed is a statement of faith that has been used by Christians since the time of the apostles. It is a summary of what we believe about God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit.

The word “credo” comes from the Latin word for “I believe.” The Creed is also called the Symbol of the Apostles because it was created by the apostles themselves.

Why is the Creed important?

The Creed is important because it helps us to understand what we believe as Christians. It also reminds us of the basics of our faith.

Although not written by them, the Apostles’ Creed is recognized as the foundation of their doctrine. He explains his ideas with “impeccable simplicity, insuperable brevity, exquisite order, and sacred ceremonial.” The current version was published in 1992. It may justly be called an ecumenical symbol of faith because it is more than any other Christian creed. The Latin text was authorized for translation into English by the 1988 Synod of the RCC.

Apostles Creed in Spanish

Here is the Apostles Creed in Spanish which is known as El Credo de los Apóstoles:

Creo en Dios, Padre todopoderoso, creador del Cielo y de la Tierra.

Creo en Jesucristo su único Hijo, Nuestro Seńor,

que fue concebido por obra y gracia del Espíritu Santo;

nació de Santa María Virgen;

padeció bajo el poder de Poncio Pilato;

fue crucificado, muerto y sepultado;

descendió a los infiernos;

al tercer día resucitó de entre los muertos;

subió a los cielos y está a la diestra de Dios Padre;

desde allí ha de venir a juzgar a los vivos y a los muertos.

Creo en el Espíritu Santo, en la Santa Iglesia Católica,

la comumión de los Santos en el perdon de los pecados

la resurrección de los muertos y la vida eterna.

Amén.
